Facilities Assistant I - Part Time (Summer)

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Summary Description
The Part-Time Facilities Assistant I will provide, during the summer season, support the full-time facilities team in ensuring that the school's facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The role assists with routine cleaning, setup and takedown for school events, minor repairs, painting, and various logistical tasks across campus. This individual will contribute to the day-to-day upkeep of classrooms, offices, common areas, and outdoor spaces, playing an important role in the presentation and functionality of the school environment.
Essential Functions and Specific Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks in classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and other school spaces.
- Assist with trash collection and recycling across the campus.
- Help with event setups and breakdowns, including moving furniture and setting up equipment.
- Support minor maintenance and repair work, including replacing fixtures.
- Clean and maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, playgrounds, and entryways.
- Collect, sort, and deliver parcels and packages to various departments and staff members.
- Refill supplies in restrooms, classrooms, and other high-traffic areas.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to full-time staff.
- Follow all school safety and cleaning protocols, including proper handling of equipment and cleaning agents.
- Provide occasional support during after-school or weekend events as needed.
- Perform with a team approach, other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in custodial, maintenance, or facility support roles is preferred but not required.
- Basic painting skills and experience with common tools and techniques are required.
